Data import

The data import panel is located in the “data import” tab in the Company panel.

The imported data should be sent in a CSV format file with one of the character encodings available on the list (UTF-8 by default). Specifying the encoding is necessary for the correct interpretation of the characters contained in the imported data file.

Such a file consists of records indicating data of subsequent objects, such as “Companies”, “Contacts”. The first line should be a header specifying which object attributes should be set when importing data. Each subsequent line appearing under the header is treated as another object of the data record.

Individual data in the record should be separated by a separator, i.e. a comma, semicolon, or colon. If a character used as a separator appears inside a field in a record (for example, in the description field), it is necessary to enclose the contents of that field in quotation marks.
